M8N1AC Outline

Memoir of a M8N1AC — Complete Book Framework

Built from a full read of the vault (808 markdown notes, ~349,000 words) plus the live site m8n1ac.com. Every claim below is grounded in an actual note — cited as a [[wikilink]] so you can jump straight to the source inside Obsidian. Nothing here is invented; where the notes disagree, the contradiction is listed for you to resolve, not silently patched.

This is the master document. It contains: (1) what’s in the vault, (2) the timeline and themes the material actually evidences, (3) one fully-committed book structure with a chapter-by-chapter outline and source map, (4) a gap analysis with interview questions to fill what’s only in your head, and (5) a prioritized list of the ten highest-value writing tasks.

How to read this document

  • [[Note Name]] = a source note in your vault. Click it.
  • ⚠️ FLAG = a contradiction, a sensitive-content warning, or a decision only you can make.
  • Word counts are estimates of usable material (raw prose you can mine), not total characters — most notes are half AI-scaffolding or duplicate, so these are deliberately conservative.
  • Density ratings tell you where you already have a chapter’s worth of material vs. where you have almost nothing but a memory.

PHASE 1 — Inventory (what the vault actually is)

A full recursive read confirms the vault is three overlapping collections, per Insights & Connections:

Layer~ShareWhat it isWhat it needs
Life archive / memoir source~40%Journals, letters, crisis documentation, drafts, testimonyCuration — the book
Venture studio~15%8+ business ideas (NexisHealth, CoreShift, FanWave, Keyeski, Turo, SolarService, trading bots)Not memoir material — but the pattern is (see Theme 6)
Operational scratchpad~45%Shopping lists, phone numbers, addresses, part numbers, work ticketsArchive / ignore

The memoir-relevant layer is dense. The book is arguably already written — it’s just scattered across ~40 notes at every polish level, from the rawest 2015 draft (pHx0.1) to the most polished 2025 testimony (Grok2, Original Markdown). The core story is retold at least ten times. The missing step was never “write more” — it was declare one canonical spine and mine the rest. That is what this framework does.

The manuscript material already exists in these clusters

Detailed per-note inventories (relevance, themes, people, era, flags for all 808 files) were produced batch-by-batch during the read; this document is their synthesis. The map-of-content notes (M8N1AC Memoir MOC, Family & Relationships MOC, Health & Recovery MOC, Work MOC (LinkedIn & ServiceNow)) remain the best in-vault navigation.

PHASE 2 — Master timeline & theme map

The dominant themes (the book’s spine)

Six recurring threads carry across the entire corpus. These are the ribs of the book:

  1. The dichotomy — bipolar as scourge and gift. Black/white, all-or-nothing, mania’s buzzsaw vs. depression’s “grey goggles.” The organizing metaphor is literally tattooed on his arm (the half-grey, half-color tree). Source of both the destruction and the “MENSA” drive. → dichotomy, pHx0.1, Story – story, I have type 1 BiPolar disorder which is characterized as periods of…
  2. “I was prescribed a monster” — iatrogenic addiction. The doctors created the dependency (Vicodin → the fentanyl “sticker” → Suboxone), then the system over-corrected and left him to suffer. Both sides of the opioid epidemic, lived. → Therapy Notes, Scripps handling, Bone Density – Health Thoughts, Brain hole
  3. The broken body. 20–25+ breaks, ~10 surgeries, 3 spinal surgeries, a hand shattered in 25+ places, severed fingers, ruptured appendix. Recklessness as an undiagnosed-mania symptom; “concrete bones” resilience as a strange grace. → Numbers, Probability examine, Long term Dis
  4. The approval wound / conditional love. The through-line from the BB gun (“your fault”) → a father’s favoritism and ultimatum → a loveless first marriage entered for approval → his own children’s estrangement. “I worked for approval… I am not worthy of love.”Treatement Exercise, Pullover from Journal, Parent Notes, Journal
  5. Loss, abandonment & the rebuild. Losing everything — repeatedly, all-at-once — and rebuilding from zero: 2011 (job/home/marriage/kids), 2017 (separation), Nov 2025 (TRO/home/family). The resurrection image (the Lake Powell jet-ski photo). → Problems to Solve, Funny side note later –, Zero Authority, Star trader
  6. Faith & divine design — “the pain now has purpose.” Keith as the hidden mentor of the middle act; the Sept 2025 “Click” that reframes 33 years of suffering as intentional. The meaning-making engine that turns a survival story into a redemption story. → Grok2, Keith, Vow, M8N1AC – Tribulation

A seventh thread runs underneath as counterpoint, not spine: the marriage with Kristen, preserved in both registers — devotion (Vow, I’ve been waiting for the perfect time to give you this and thought…, Plane) and grievance (KBitch, Business class right, Funny side note later –), often days apart. Read chronologically it’s an arc, not a contradiction — and the honest version needs both halves.

Density map — where you’re rich vs. thin

EraMaterial densityNote
Childhood (age 4–13)MediumBB gun told 5×; but the rest of childhood (brothers, mother, daily life, faith formation) is thin — mostly grievance, little scene.
College / young adult (18–23)ThinNamed in lists (M8N1AC roommates, Vegas 21st) but almost no written scenes. Big gap.
First marriage → injury → addiction (2006–2010)Very richThe best-documented era. Therapy Notes alone is a chapter.
Diagnosis, divorce, trailer, reboot (2010–2013)RichWell covered, but emotionally raw more than scenic.
Hospitalizations & career rise (2014–2016)MediumEvents cataloged (hand, SF/LA 5150s, NJ arrest) but told fast, not deeply.
The 2017 hinge + world tripThin-to-Medium ⚠️Enormous importance, little actual scene. The near-death moment that birthed “Know Thyself” is asserted, never shown. Critical gap.
Rebuild / AZ / fatherhood loss (2018–2024)RichDeep on marriage friction and estrangement; the rebuild wins are underwritten.
The Click + 2025 crisis + treatmentVery richOver-documented, from many angles, at many polish levels.

PHASE 2.5 — ⚠️ Contradictions to resolve (please answer)

Per your instruction, these were surfaced, not silently patched. All nine now resolved by the author (2026-07-23) ✅.

  1. RESOLVED — Bipolar 1 diagnosed 2011 (at 27). The 2010 rehab was pre-diagnosis; the “late 2014/15” tellings refer to treatment lock-in, not the diagnosis itself. Timeline and Ch. 9 updated.
  2. RESOLVED — 3 spinal surgeries (2009, 2013, 2024 titanium reconstruction). The “4th looming” is a prospective/possible future surgery, not a completed one — refer to it as anticipated, not done. Timeline uses 3 throughout.
  3. RESOLVED (author: “rest is good”) — canonical figure “25+ broken bones,” with the shattered hand treated as its own set-piece (its ~25-place break counted within, described as its own scene rather than a running tally). Fine-tune exact numbers against medical records at copyedit.
  4. RESOLVED — BB-gun accident at age 9.
  5. RESOLVED — career order ServiceNow → Accenture → LinkedIn (as the timeline already runs it: 2011 ServiceNow reboot → Accenture → ~2014 LinkedIn/Microsoft).
  6. RESOLVED — “Ten-ten” (October 10). That’s the anniversary and the source of Kristen’s nickname TenTen. Timeline updated to 10/10/2013 (year corroborated by “married 11 years” in 2024).
  7. RESOLVED — One affair, one relationship (Nicole). The differing framings across notes (“during the marriage” vs “after separation”) are the same relationship across its arc, not two affairs. The marriage chapters (Ch. 5, 7) will treat Nicole as a single continuous relationship.
  8. RESOLVED — Two separate events. The India awakening (~2021) and the Coronado “Click” (Sept 2025) are distinct. They stay two beats: India as a rock-bottom turning point in Part IV, Coronado as the climactic frame in Part V (Ch. 17).
  9. RESOLVED — It was truly 3 years sober. The canonical figure is a genuine 3-year sober stretch (post-2017 trip). The “4 years” tellings are rounded/off; the later “occasional controlled pain meds” belong to a different, later period, not the clean stretch. The 3-year sobriety is stated plainly as fact. Timeline and Ch. 12 updated.

PHASE 3 — The book framework (one, fully committed)

Working titles

Primary recommendation: Memoir of a M8N1AC — it’s already your brand (site, license plate, tattoo), it carries the double meaning (maniac / mania), and it’s yours. Keep it.

Subtitle options (the subtitle does the “what it means” work):

  • Memoir of a M8N1AC: How the Pain Got Its Purpose ← recommended
  • Memoir of a M8N1AC: A Story of Broken Bones, Broken Brains, and the Click That Put Them Back
  • Memoir of a M8N1AC: Notes from the Black-and-White Mind

The thesis (what the book is actually about)

This is not a book about a man who broke 25 bones, got hooked on doctor-prescribed fentanyl, and was involuntarily committed. That’s the plot. The book is about a mind built in absolutes — black or white, mania or the grey-goggle void, all or nothing — and what it costs, and what it’s for, to live at both extremes with no dimmer switch. It’s the story of a boy who learned at nine that love is conditional and spent thirty-three years auditioning for it — from his parents, from a woman who never loved him, from children who eventually stopped speaking to him — while an undiagnosed illness turned his body into a wreckage report and the medicine meant to fix him became the thing that nearly killed him. And it’s the story of the single moment — a “Click” — when the whole ledger of suffering re-read itself as design instead of cruelty: not that the pain wasn’t real, but that it had been building something. The promise to the reader is the same promise the author makes to his two estranged children: the absences came from crises, never from apathy — and if this story reaches one person still in the dark, the mountain of pain was worth climbing.

Structural decision: Chronological narrative, framed by the Click, threaded with the dichotomy

I’m committing to a chronological spine, opened and closed by the September 2025 “Divine Click,” with the black/white dichotomy as the recurring device. Here’s the structure and why it beats the alternatives:

  • Open in the present (the Click / the treatment center) so the reader knows this pain led somewhere — then drop back to the first domino and move forward in time to catch up to the frame. This is the “framed narrative” move, and it’s essential: without it, the first two-thirds is unrelieved catastrophe and readers drown. The frame supplies meaning up front.
  • Then go chronological, because the causation is the thesis. Your own core insight is the domino chain — BB gun → approval wound → loveless marriage → injury → opioids → undiagnosed mania → collapse → rebuild. That logic only lands if the reader watches one thing cause the next in order. Time is the argument.
  • Thread the dichotomy as a running device: where a chapter has a natural dark/light split, tell the same beat through both lenses (you already gesture at this in NoTES – Bad weekend: “Event A – 2 lenses – light/dark”). It’s the tattoo, made structural — used sparingly so it stays a device, not a gimmick.

Why not the alternatives (defended, per your ask)

  • Pure thematic (the “four demises”: physical / mental / emotional / spiritual) — this is what M8n1ac Framework and Framework currently propose, and it’s the vault’s biggest structural trap. It shatters causation and forces massive repetition: the 2006 back injury has to appear in “physical,” the resulting addiction in “physical,” the marriage strain it caused in “emotional,” the despair in “mental,” the crisis-of-faith in “spiritual” — the same events retold four times. That’s literally why the current material feels like ten drafts of one story. Thematic organization is why the vault is hard to read. Reject it as the top-level spine (but keep the four pillars as a lens inside the framing chapters and the closing synthesis — see the outline).
  • Pure chronological (no frame) — honest but brutal. 200 pages of escalating disaster before any redemption arrives is a wall most readers won’t climb. The frame fixes this.
  • Braided dual-timeline (past + present alternating throughout) — tempting, and your instinct for it shows in the dark/light device. But sustained across a whole book it would keep interrupting the domino logic that is your thesis, and it’s the hardest structure to execute for a first-time author. Use braiding locally (the two-lens device, the frame) rather than as the global spine.

Committed structure: Framed Chronological in five parts + prologue/epilogue. One spine, threaded, not three half-proposals.

PROLOGUE — “Welcome Back”

  • Arc: Open at the climactic frame — the sober night in Coronado, Sept 27–28 2025, the “God Zoom,” the voice, the black smoke leaving his body — but cut away before the full meaning, leaving the reader with the question: what could make a man read 33 years of ruin as a gift? Establish narrator, stakes, and the promise (for his kids; for the one reader in the dark).

Intercut the father’s predatory house deal closing two weeks before the wedding. The 590-guest wedding as a high before the fall.

Ch. 9 — Know the Enemy’s Name (the diagnosis + the reboot + Kristen)

  • Arc: The Bipolar 1 diagnosis in 2011, at 27 — the moment “excuses became management,” and everything reframes. The career reboot from zero (ServiceNow → Accenture → the climb). The Nov-2011 prayer and meeting Kristen “four days later” — the rainbow after the storm. Reframe the whole preceding book: this is what was driving it.

Ch. 11 — The Worst Year (2017)

Ch. 12 — The Other Side of the Earth (“Know Thyself”)

Ch. 13 — Keith (the hidden father)

  • Arc: The middle act’s mentor. Keith Keyeski — who drove Kristen to the LA psych wards to find “her maniac husband,” who never judged, who “saved my life” when Darrin’s own family “settled with the terms of my death.” Faith modeled, not preached. The “Calm” tattoo in Keith’s handwriting. His cancer, his death (Oct 2024), the promise to protect the family. This is the emotional bridge into the awakening — the human face of the faith that later “clicks.”

Ch. 15 — The Empty Chairs (the estrangement)

  • Arc: Parker’s disappearance from May 21 2022 — the failing-grade question, the year-long ghostings, the missed graduations and Christmases; Ellie’s drift and her self-harm; the excruciating asymmetry of a father who never missed a support payment in 13 years watching his children choose silence. The generational echo — “punished for a crime that regularly happened to me.”

  • Arc: The March-2023 dunes crisis (heart rate 142, the goodbye recordings) as a dry run for what’s coming. The Jan-2024 titanium spinal reconstruction. The opioid whiplash — the system that over-prescribed him now under-treats him, forcing 150-mile refill drives; both sides of the epidemic in one body. The jetski crash. Turning 40 alone.
  • Maps from: 3.3 · Scripps handling · Notes for response letter · Dr eastlack, · 40 · Bone Density – Health Thoughts

Kauai and the broken dam; the sober Coronado night; the “God Zoom” vision of the two planes and the demon swarm; the cross shattering the figure-8; Keith’s voice; “Welcome back, We’ve missed you.” The instantaneous re-reading of 33 years — not cruelty, but design. The dichotomy resolved: the black-and-white mind was built to see exactly this.

Ch. 18 — Kicked When Down (Oct 2025–Jan 2026: the crisis and the reset)

  • Arc: The dark counter-turn: the medical leave, the November restaurant fight, the sheriff, the protective order served in the driveway, the collapse of every support at once (home, office, gym, dogs, family) — “echoed 2011.” The involuntary-feeling treatment stay; the meds finally dialed in after 15 years; the reconciliation. The hardest, most honest chapter — the awakening did not exempt him from the fall; the illness is chronic; the work is daily. End on the return home and the fragile, real peace.

EPILOGUE — “The Pain Now Has Purpose”

  • Arc: The synthesis — here the four pillars (physical/mental/emotional/spiritual) finally converge as a reflection, not a structure. What the illness cost and what it gave. The letter to Parker and Ellie, quoted or adapted, as the closing address: the absences came from crises, never apathy. The turn outward to the reader in the dark. The Lake Powell photo again — arms raised at the cave mouth — resurrection.

Total usable material on hand: roughly 58,000–62,000 words of minable raw text across the chapters — i.e., a full first draft’s worth of clay already exists. The work is shaping and filling the thin spots, not starting cold.

Opening recommendation

Open the book with Numbers as an epigraph, then the Prologue’s Coronado scene.

Numbers is the single strongest cold-open device in the entire vault — a bare, punch-in-the-gut tally:

4 rehab treatment centers · 2 times I’ve died and been brought back · 2 spinal surgeries · 5 doctors over 5 states concurrently · 2 5150 stays in a mental hospital · …

Put that list on the page alone. Let it hang. Then cut straight to the sober night in Coronado where a man who should be that list instead hears “Welcome back.” The contrast between the ledger of damage and the moment of grace is the book in miniature — and it hooks the reader with the thesis (survival that means something) before a single childhood scene. Every draft that opens chronologically (M8N1AC, 1992 Insurance) buries the hook; every draft that opens with the numbers or the awakening (Story – story, Grok2) lands. Trust the second instinct.

Canonical drafts to build from (don’t start blank): use Original Markdown / Grok2 for the awakening frame, Therapy Notes for the 2005–2012 chronological core, and Letter to Parker and Ellie as the emotional/factual North Star. Mine every other note for its best lines and mark it superseded.

PHASE 4 — Gap analysis (what’s in your head but not on the page)

For each part: the scenes the notes reference but never tell, the people who appear but stay flat, the interior that’s stated but not felt, and direct interview questions to you (answer these into a voice memo or doc and you’ll generate the missing chapters).

PART I gaps (childhood / the mold)

  • Missing scenes: Everyday life before age 9 (the notes say memory is gone here — but is there anything? a smell, a room, a good day?). Your mother as a person, not just the woman who beat you with the gun. A single scene of your father’s approval actually landing. The texture of the conservative-Christian home — church, rules, what faith felt like as a kid.
  • Underdeveloped people: Your brothers Brandon and Ryan — they’re money-grievances in the notes, never characters. Your mother — almost entirely absent as an interior figure. Daniel — after the eye, what happened to him and to the friendship?
  • Stated-but-not-felt: “I am not worthy of love” is asserted constantly but never dramatized in a childhood scene beyond the BB gun.
  • Interview questions for you:
    1. Tell me one entire ordinary day from before you were nine — even a fragment. Where were you, who was in the room, what did it smell like?
    2. Describe a specific time your father was proud of you. What did he say or do? How did your body feel?
    3. What was your mother like on a normal Tuesday — not the worst day, a normal one?
    4. What happened to Daniel? Did you two ever speak again? What do you carry about him now?
    5. Who were Brandon and Ryan to you as kids — allies, rivals, strangers? Give me one scene with each.
    6. As a child, when you “felt Him there” (you say faith was present even young) — what did that actually feel like? Describe one moment.

PART II gaps (marriage, injury, addiction)

  • Missing scenes: The actual river moment of the back breaking, second by second (you have the fact; give the seconds). The specific conversation where Christina’s coldness first became undeniable on the honeymoon. The first time you chewed a fentanyl patch — where were you, what did it feel like, what did you tell yourself?
  • Underdeveloped people: Christina — she’s a villain-shape (“conned me,” “asexual”), never a full person; a memoir needs her to be human or the reader distrusts the narrator. Nicole (the affair) — almost entirely unwritten. Dr. Lozar — the doctor who handed you fentanyl; give the reader his office, his face, his exact words.
  • Stated-but-not-felt: What it was actually like to be a father to newborn Parker while high/withdrawing. The interior of loving your son and failing him simultaneously.
  • Interview questions for you:
    1. Walk me through the ten seconds your back snapped at the river — the sound, the fall, what you thought before you knew it was bad.
    2. What was the first moment on the honeymoon you knew? What was said? Where were you sitting?
    3. Describe Dr. Lozar’s office the day of the patch. What did he look like? What did you want to be true?
    4. The first patch — reconstruct it. Time of day, where, the taste, the lie you told yourself.
    5. Tell me one thing you genuinely loved about Christina, or one good day, early. (The book needs it.)
    6. Newborn Parker, feeding him every 45 minutes — what did you feel holding him, knowing what was in your blood?

PART III gaps (diagnosis / collapse / wards)

  • Missing scenes: The moment of diagnosis — the office, the doctor’s words, your reaction. What a 5150 hold actually looks like from inside (you promise this in I have type 1 BiPolar disorder… but never deliver it). The NJ arrest — handcuffs, the cell, the fear. Meeting Kristen — the actual first encounter (you have the prayer and the “four days later,” not the scene).
  • Underdeveloped people: Kristen at the start — who was she before she was your wife? Jamie (trailer era), the trailer-life daily reality.
  • Stated-but-not-felt: What it felt like to hear “Bipolar 1” — relief? terror? vindication? The notes say “excuses became management” but not the emotion of the moment.
  • Interview questions for you:
    1. Reconstruct the diagnosis appointment. Who said the words “bipolar one”? What did you do with your hands? Did you cry, laugh, argue?
    2. Take me inside the LA psych ward on the 2015 hold — the intake, the first night, a person you met, a specific hour.
    3. The NJ pharmacy night and the arrest — what actually happened? Walk it through from the decision to the cuffs.
    4. The first time you saw Kristen — where, what she was wearing, what you thought. What made her different from Christina in the first five minutes?
    5. What did a normal day in the trailer look like — waking up, the Sunday park visits, going to sleep?

PART IV gaps (the hinge — highest priority)

  • Missing scenes (critical): The near-death moment on the world trip that birthed “Know Thyself.” This is the pivot of the entire book and it exists in the notes as a single asserted sentence. Where were you on the earth? What happened to your body? What did you understand in that moment? This scene must be written from scratch and it’s the most important writing task in the project.
  • Underdeveloped: The world trip itself — Dubai, India, Poland, wherever (Nowyswiat, Stories hint at anecdotes: “Dubai quads,” “Bin Laden joke,” “German dude,” “dude on plane” — these stories exist only in your memory). Whether the India awakening (Star trader) and the world-trip near-death are the same event or two (⚠️ contradiction #8).
  • Interview questions for you:
    1. The most important question in this whole document: describe the near-death moment on the trip. Where on earth were you? What physically happened? What did you see, think, decide? Why did “Know Thyself” come from that? Give me twenty minutes on this one.
    2. Was the India awakening (Star trader) the same moment, or a separate one? Tell me both if they’re different.
    3. Tell me the Dubai quad story, the plane stories, the “German dude” — the anecdotes in Stories that live nowhere on the page.
    4. Keith drove Kristen to the psych wards to find you. Have you ever pictured that drive from his side? What do you think he was thinking?
    5. Coming home from the trip — the first week of the new regimen. What was hour one of choosing to live differently?

PART V gaps (estrangement / click / crisis)

  • Missing scenes: The last good moment with Parker before May 21 2022 — the book needs the before to make the loss land. A concrete scene with Ellie that isn’t about her pain. The actual moment you realized, during the Click, that the whole ledger had re-read itself — the turn from cruelty to design, slowed down.
  • Underdeveloped: Tyler and Bodie — the stepsons you raised; Bodie especially (“my boy”) deserves real scenes. The reconciliation with Kristen and family after the treatment center — you have the crisis in high definition and the repair in a sentence.
  • Stated-but-not-felt: What it’s like to live after the Click knowing the illness is still chronic — the humility of Chapter 18. Don’t let the awakening read as a cure.
  • Interview questions for you:
    1. The last normal day with Parker before he went silent — do you have one? Describe it.
    2. Give me a scene with Ellie that’s pure joy — the dad-daughter dates, a specific one.
    3. Bodie is “your boy.” Tell me the moment you knew that — a specific one, not the fact.
    4. During the Click, when the meaning flipped — walk me through the sequence of re-understanding. Which memory re-read itself first? Then which?
    5. After the treatment center, the first real conversation with Kristen at home — what was actually said? How do you rebuild trust after a protective order?
    6. Living now, knowing the next episode is always possible — what does an ordinary good day look like, and what does maintenance cost you?

⚠️ Pre-publication handling (read before you share a word)

The vault contains material that must be handled before any of this becomes public. This is not editorial squeamishness — it’s protecting you, your kids, and the book’s credibility.

  • Sensitive personal data to scrub (do not let these reach a manuscript, site, or shared draft): passwords and keys scattered through notes; third-party SSNs including Parker’s (Notes for response letter) and Kristen’s (0543); bank/routing numbers (Therapy Notes top); home address; the Metriport/Anthropic API keys. The Vault Cleanup — Action List tracks most of these — do the security pass first.
  • The conspiracy / “inversion” material (Inversion, Reconnect!! Reveals –, Brother black pill, Kirk, Red_Pill -Awaken, the antisemitic passages in Click and Orig post): this content is clinically and narratively meaningful — it documents the ideation of the Oct–Nov 2025 hypomanic escalation, and the book can honestly describe that a person in that state grabbed onto these ideas. But the material must be narrated as symptom, never reproduced as claim or amplified. Publishing the assertions themselves would harm real groups and destroy the book’s credibility. Frame it from the outside, in the past tense, as part of what the illness did.
  • Contested domestic-violence accounts, both directions (Funny side note later –, Kristen_letter…, Data Dump, Up to JT Primes, First off… regardless…): these are one-sided, mid-crisis, and legally live. If the marriage’s hard chapters go in the book, they need care, fairness to Kristen, and almost certainly a lawyer’s read. The ATtny Feedback note shows you already sought legal review — continue that.
  • Minors’ private medical/mental-health details (Ellie’s self-harm; Parker’s struggles): real children who did not choose to be in a book. Consider what they’d consent to. The Letter to Parker and Ellie shows you can write about them with love and restraint — that’s the register to keep.

PHASE 5 — The 10 highest-value writing tasks (prioritized)

Ranked by how much each one strengthens the book per hour of work — i.e., biggest gaps at the most load-bearing points first.

  1. Write the “Know Thyself” near-death scene from scratch (Ch. 12). The pivot of the entire book currently exists as one sentence. Answer Part IV, Q1. Nothing else moves the needle this much.
  2. Declare the canonical spine and resolve the 9 contradictions (Phase 2.5). Until the diagnosis year, surgery count, wedding date, and affair timeline are pinned, every chapter rests on sand. One hour with your medical/legal records fixes most of them.
  3. Humanize Christina (Ch. 5). The narrator is only trustworthy if his antagonist is a real person. Answer Part II, Q5. Without it, readers distrust everything you say about the marriage.
  4. Write the diagnosis scene and one 5150 from the inside (Ch. 9–10). You promise the reader the psych ward (I have type 1 BiPolar disorder…) and never deliver. Answer Part III, Q1–Q2.
  5. Merge the BB-gun chapter into one canonical telling (Ch. 1). You have five versions — the task is subtraction, not addition. Pick the strongest lines from Treatement Exercise, 1992 Insurance, Pullover from Journal and cut the rest.
  6. Write Chapter 18 honestly — the awakening did not cure you (the 2025 crisis + reset). The book’s integrity depends on the fall after the Click. You have the raw material; the task is shaping it so redemption doesn’t read as a magic fix. Handle the DV/legal material carefully (see above).
  7. Give the “hinge” its scenes: the world trip + the first week home (Ch. 12). The Dubai/plane anecdotes in Stories and the first days of the new regimen (Nicole,). Answer Part IV, Q3 and Q5.
  8. Build the Keith chapter (Ch. 13) — the hidden father, the bridge to faith. Material is rich (Keith, MEMORIAL KEITH); the task is assembly and finding the scenes (the drive to the LA ward from his side). Answer Part IV, Q4.
  9. Write the “before” of the estrangement (Ch. 15) — the last good day with Parker, a joyful Ellie scene. The loss only lands if the reader sees what was lost. Answer Part V, Q1–Q2. (Handle minors’ material per the pre-publication note.)
  10. Draft the Prologue + Epilogue as a matched pair, opening with Numbers and the Coronado frame, closing with the letter to the kids and the Lake Powell image. Once the spine is set, these bookends are what make it a book and not a collection — and they’re the two pieces where your best existing prose already lives.

Framework compiled 2026-07-20 from a full read of all 808 vault notes + m8n1ac.com. Every source is a live wikilink above. The contradictions in Phase 2.5 and the decisions in the pre-publication section need your input before drafting begins in earnest — answer those first, then start with task #1.
